The course in Sustainable Construction Technologies has two main goals. The first one is about design methodologyand deals with the understanding of the close relationship between architecture, energy efficiency and the technological issues of a building. The second one is about the knowledge of the construction techniques themselves and the criteria for their choice in different situations. During the course, the theme of sustainability in architecture will be investigated, ranging from global issues to advanced, building-integrated energy-saving techniques. The issue of sustainability is getting more and more important in the building sector and requires a holistic approach during the whole design process: a number of cutting-edge European and Italian examples will be presented.
